The Sacrament of First Eucharist or Holy Communion

Also called the Most Blessed Sacrament, the third sacrament of Christian Initiation is the one by which Catholics partake of the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ and participate in his one sacrifice. The bread and wine used in the Eucharistic rite are, in the Catholic Faith, transformed in all but appearance into the Body and Blood of Christ, a change called transubstantiation. As Catholics, we believe we are sacramentally, not physically, eating and drinking the body and blood of Jesus Christ.
